Lasix (Furosemide)

Furosemide - a diuretic, causing fast and short diuresis. Furosemide is used for excretion of excessive fluid from an organism at a body edema (in case of heart attack), a cirrhosis, chronic renal insufficiency and a nephrosis. It can be used in a complex with other medical products controlling bloody pressure, at hypertonia treatment.

Take Lasix following prescriptions of your treating doctor. It is necessary to wash down a tablet with a full glass of water. It recommended to take Lasix in the beginning of day in order to reduce a night emiction.

Lasix (Furosemide) blocks absorption of salt and water in kidneys so that leads to increasing of an emiction and the enlarged outflow of water from a body. Carefully use Lasix as its diuretic effect can cause organism dehydration.

It is possible to take Lasix as regularly and once, depending on the doctor's instruction. Intake of Lasix has no regular schedule. If the doctor has prescribed course of treatment with Lasix - take a drug regularly. In case of the missed dose take it within 12 hours, if has passed more than 12 hours - skip intake and take only the following regularly scheduled dose.

Store Lasix at ambient temperature, in protected from a moisture and light place.

Patients with an allergic response on sulfonamide family of drugs can have an allergy on Lasix (Furosemide) so they have similar chemical structure. It is not recommended to take Lasix at renal insufficiency. Despite that use of Lasix (Furosemide) plays an important role at treatment of excessive accumulation of fluid at patients with a cirrhosis, excessive loss of fluid can worsen renal function and lead to a coma. Lasix (Furosemide) can cause lowering of level of potassium, sodium and magnesium in a blood. It can lead to irregular heartbeat, especially at the patients who are taking Digoxin (Lanoxin). In this case consult with the attending physician.

In the course of use of Lasix uric acid level in a blood can be enlarged, but occurrence of an acute gout is unlikely. Use of Lasix (Furosemide) can lead to increased toxic effect of antibiotics of aminoglycoside that in turn can lead to hearing damage. Lasix (Furosemide) reduces renal excretion of lithium and can lead to lithium toxicity. Lasix (Furosemide) can lead to deterioration of function of kidneys if it is taken with aspirin or other nonsteroid antiinflammatory drugs.

Insignificant side effects - the lowered blood pressure, dropping of level of salts and water can be observed. It is possible to observe an icterus, a sonitus, the raised photosensitivity, a rash, a pancreatitis, a nausea, an abdominal pain, giddiness, an anaemia among less widespread side effects.

• If at you are observed:
  • Muscular spastic strictures or delicacy;
  • Tachycardia;
  • Abdominal pain or diarrhoeia;
  • Lowered blood pressure
  • Problems with hearing, you should stop to take Lasix (Furosemide) and to revert to the doctor.
• Side effects of other character except the listed can be observed. Inform the attending physician on any of them.
